Simon Lawson
Chiropractors
Simon graduated from the School of Chiropractic, Witwatersrand Technikon in 1999. He completed a Diploma in Chiropractic whilst living and working in the UK. He worked in numerous multi-discipline clinics whilst working as the Chiropractor for the British Masters Athletics Federation, Derbyshire County Cricket Club and Nottingham University’s Hockey Club. He also consulted to the English Cricket Board and UK Athletics before returning to South Africa in 2005. He has been selected as a member of the International FICS team of Chiropractors at the past 3 World Games.
He currently owns two clinics in the north of Johannesburg. The latest being within the Wanderers Sports Medicine Centre which is a state of the art, elite, high performance Sports Medicine facility, based at the Wanderers Bullring Stadium, with a strong emphasis on functional training, rehabilitation, nutrition and athlete care.
He is currently serving his second term as President of the Chiropractic Association of South Africa, Chair of Chirosport SA and is the Chair of the FICS International Federations Commission.
He treats a wide variety of elite national and international athletes and is affiliated to the Highveld Lions Cricket Team, the Lions rugby team and SA Rowing. As a competitor, he has represented South Africa at Triathlon and Wales at Hockey. He has completed Iron Man, Two Oceans, the Cape Epic, Joberg2c and the Otter Trail run. He has a passion for sport both as a participant and a practitioner.
As a practitioner, his passion lies in sports performance and injury prevention. His experience on the field affords him the opportunity to fully understand the rigours, demands and stresses of elite sport. He relishes the challenge of keeping his athletes and patient’s injury free and in peak performance.
