INTERNATIONAL SPORTS MEDICINE CONGRESS
The 12th Biennial Congress of the South African Sports Medicine Association in conjunction with the South African Rugby Medical Association will host an International Sports Medicine Congress in Pretoria from 14th November – 16th November 2007. The meeting will be held at the Diep in die Berg Conference and Function Centre.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMME
The academic programme is being developed to provide sports medicine practitioners, physiotherapists, biokineticists, orthopaedic surgeons, dieticians and other allied health professionals with the latest and an updated knowledge base in the multi-disciplinary field of exercise science and sports medicine. Local and international experts will form part of the Faculty; and the programme will include:
TRADE EXHIBITIONS
Industry will be showcasing the resources relevant to the attending delegates at the trade exhibition, which will run for the duration of the Congress.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The registration and information desk will be situated in the trade exhibition area of the congress and will be open at the following times:

ADMISSION BADGES
All attendees and participants must wear their congress badges during the meetings and whilst visiting the exhibition area.
ACCREDITATION
This Congress will be accredited for CPD points
ACCOMPANYING PERSONS
Accompanying persons will be entitled to attend the social function. There are tourist programmes, including Game Drives in the vicinity, to be arranged by privately with the designated Congress Hotel.
REGISTRATION CANCELLATION
Notice of cancellation must be received in writing no later than 19 October 2007, and a cancellation fee of R500-00 will be payable. After that date no refunds will be paid.
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
The Biennial Congress Dinner and Awards evening will provide ample opportunity to socialize and renew acquaintances.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION
The designated Congress hotel is the Farm Inn, email: http://www.safarinow.com/go/FarmInnHotel/, situated close to the Congress venue. The drive time is approximately 2 to 5 minutes. There will be a complimentary shuttle service to and from the Congress venue twice a day.
TRANSPORT
Diep in die Berg offers a complementary shuttle service to and from O R Thambo International Airport to the Farm Inn. Shuttle time details will be announced with the second announcement.
IMPORTANT DATES
Closing date for early bird registration is 30th June 2007.
Closing date for full registration is 26th October 2007.
Thereafter a late registration fee will be charged.
Closing date for submission of abstracts is the 24th August 2007.
